I'll give my two bits and take it as you will. But you want to start in the hosting profession while not knowing the jargon even. How are you going to support your customers when you yourself have no clue what you are talking about?

I started hosting for friends and myself years before TCAdmin even came into play.
In my opinion, you really need a basic understanding of networking(if you did, the master and remote thing would've made sense enough for you to guess accurately.)

You couldn't find the tcadmin config, which a simple linux locate command would most likely solve. There are various indications here that tell me you are so very green. I fear for your customers.

HI, i wont have any customers for a long time, i am setting this up for me and my team so we can have a server to play on and i can control things my way. Then as i learn and get good at this then i may consider offering some hosting services. So its ok dont worry the public is safe for now OK lmao....

I would never just jump into this like that anyway, i just want it set up so that i can use it as a customer would so i can learn.

Yes i am green when it comes to this, but not computers in general, i do have a degree in computer science from the old days probably before most people here on the forum were born, way before the web. I used to work in Assembly, Fortran, IBM JCL, Databus, COBOL, and others..

Do any of you remember wordstar lmao... And typing out thousands of lines of code in DOS lol...

I do have a background enough to get me by but not enough to understand some of the more current tech stuff. In the old days you didnt do anything without a flowchart and flowing everything out so that everyone was on the same path.

We didnt have cell phones and hand held devices and all that stuff, we didnt get to take the code home with us or carry it round in a laptop. And errors back then were for the most part hunt and seek. There were some languages that had better error logging than others, but some were just so bad that if you had a problem you better know the code top to bottom because it was very difficult.

So please forgive me if i dont stack up to the current generation that was born with a hand held in their hand. Yes you know more than me, more than us old folks, but without us you were be nowhere...

I will get the hang of it and i will not offer services until i do.

You started out great. Then you became rather condescending halfway and you complain about flaming? Come on man.

I was definitely not born with a handheld. I am the generation before that. Don't go around assuming. If you do, don't be condescending, damn dude.

I'm gonna be leaving this conversation now. Good luck with your endeavours.

I was not intentionally being condescending i was trying to be funny in my own way that i was old and the young pups run the world now. Sorry if it came off that way.... it was not meant to be that way.
